For the city of Haarlem, ICTU is working on a proof of concept using Discipl Core in collaboration with Xurux. This poc, intended to go in production in 2018 will showcase how a distributed ledger can be used to verify private claims made by a citizen to be attested by the municipality. This specific use-case focusses on a housing corporation asking a citizen to prove his registration in a certain municipality. The basic logic is as follows:
Citizen privately claims (claim) data to be proofed, municipality attests the private claim (attest) publicly, housing corporation verifies attestation of private claim (assert) that is shared with them by the citizen.
This is a first step towards Self Sovereign Identity (SSI) management and the SSI API of Discipl Core. It does not replace a central register (yet).
